HETAS H003 Refresher Option 1 – Training is not a pre-requisite for assessment

Cost: £333.00 plus VAT

Introduction to the course:

This assessment is for HETAS dry registered installers wishing to re-qualify their competence.

The assessment consists of one day of assessment.

Training materials are to be sent by recorded delivery two weeks prior to assessment.

It is recommended that candidates take option 2 due to the vast changes in Regulations and Standards.

Entry requirements:

An existing HETAS dry installer, with proof of registration. (Business and installer number will be checked with HETAS at time of booking).

How the installer will be assessed:

Candidate sits a closed book exam and must achieve 80%, 2 attempts. Failure results in candidate progressing onto option 2.

Multiple choice and desk based activity question papers; open book examination 100% to pass. Two attempts must get 80% or more for second attempt. Practical assessment 100% to pass, two attempts must get 80% or more for second attempt.

HETAS H003 Refresher – Option 2

HETAS H003 Refresher – Option 2 after unsuccessful Option 1 attempt

Cost: £275.00 plus VAT

Introduction to the course:

This course is aimed at existing HETAS dry installers, that need to re-qualify their competence to comply with the competent person scheme rules set by the Department of Communities and Local Government.

The course consists of 2 days training and assessment.

Entry requirements:

An existing HETAS dry installer, with proof of registration. (Business and installer number will be checked with HETAS at time of booking).

What they will learn:

  • Fuel types, Storage & Selection.
  • Principles of Combustion,
  • Causes of Incomplete Combustion & Carbon Monoxide Poisoning.
  • Appliance types, Operating Principles & Selection.
  • Legislation, Regulations & Industry guidance.
  • Flue system & Ventilation requirements for solid fuel appliances.
  • Dry solid fuel appliance; Sizing, Selection, Installation, Commissioning & Decommissioning.
  • Dry solid fuel appliance service & maintenance.
